ward kimball the animator did some really interesting animation, but ward kimball the man seems to have been a really annoying kook.
i’ve read that at the end of his career at disney mr. kimball used to belt out his work, and then spend the rest of the day annoying--- oops i mean ENTERTAINING-- the pretty young secretaries and receptionists at disney studios.
imagine being a young woman, trying to support yourself on minimum wage, and here’s an old man with coke bottle glasses and kooky clothes hovering over you and keeping you from getting your work done. AND the old kook is is getting a huge salary that allows him to own a large estate, collect real antique train engines, and have a real railroad on his estate.
