good health / lard dog

re LARD DOG (see yesterday's post/comments)
I ran across this old pic of LD over the weekend. It's what prompted me to go a-googlin'. This is Blowfly, unidentified man, and LD circa 1980. Wayno, I was not at the Fez show. And I have no idea if that PookieDo video ever actually aired on Nickelodeon. Marc, EVERYBODY has lost touch with LD, and if you ever re-establish contact, he'll disappear again soon after. He's a busy man! Here's a blog he started and apparently soon abandoned about a year ago. Here's his site that has never ever changed in many years. Try sending him an email! I think that email address is dead, but I'm not sure...

Speaking of old pics from 1980 (edit - it's actually about 1992), here's one Wayno recently posted on his facebook. I sent the link to somebody yesterday but they could not get in, so rather than link to it, I'll steal it and re-post. L to R, Benny, David, Wayno, Pumpie - pic by David (or possibly The World's Greatest Cook using David's camera?)

I don't know who snapped that photo, but it wasn't Jeannie. She's off to the right, not visible in this cropped version. Could it have been Brigham?

Lard Dog is now a big-time music mogul! He manages his old buddy "Howlin' Wilf," who now goes by his given name, James Hunter. You can buy Hunter's latest CD in Starbucks stores all across America.

I saw Erdman here in Pittsburgh in March of 2006, when Hunter was on tour promoting "People Gonna Talk."

LD appeared in a New York Times story about Hunter about a week before they played here (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/08/arts/music/08hunt.html?scp=13&sq=%22james%20hunter%22&st=cse#)

Steve formed a label, Go Records, to release Hunter's music. The first CD, "People Gonna Talk," was picked up for distribution by Rounder, and got a lot of indie/public radio play. Our little boy is doing all right these days!

Oh yeah, if you go to James Hunter's page, be sure to check the store. Erdman illustrated a poster printed by Hatch Show Prints!

Hello, Arsenault! Here's you, me, Pumpie, Dennis Worden, Sam Henderson, and somebody whose name I cannot remember. It's a 1989 (!) comic-con photo from Fleener's photo blog.

I cannot believe that that is Sam Henderson. I didn't even know people knew anything ABOUT Sam Henderson in 89. I guess he's been doing this longer than I thought.

You wanta know what's really weird? Look at that old pic of Wayno. Then look at the 1992 pic. Then look at him now.
NO CHANGE! He's a robot or something!

I now have the perfect use for "WTF?".

It's amazing how the Bat Medalion so firmly dates that photo as 1989, Wayno. Heidi at the Beat had a stylish pic up the other day from the same era. I miss late 80s bat mania.

I can't remember who that guy is either!
