time warp

Two weeks ago I posted the sketch of Gran'paw about to wreck. Now here is the finished art of the actual wreck. Just a chunk of it, the actual panel is huge and has Scoutmaster Glick in it and the exterior of the front end of the truck and the thing he is smashing into - it's incredibly busy. Probably too busy. I am keeping a printout of issue one in front of me as I ink, trying to maintain a consistent look throughout the life of this 6-part story. That has always been very hard for me to do. Consistency is so boring, man. While you are actually slaving away, it is like a big giant log tied around your neck. Maybe that's just me. Maybe it comes naturally to some artists.

PLEASE NOTE: Runaway Comic is NOT a full-color comic. I just colored this pic of Gran'paw because I wanted to.

actually, i’m fighting the same problem on a little thing i am working on.
in previews it said there will be two issues of runaway comic per year. 24 pages each if i’m not mistaken.
that’s 48 pages per year + nick projects + boy’s life + various other projects + your full time job.
i’m curious about how you manage to be so prolific. i’m lucky if i can turn out 20 pages per year (plus my full time job). could you please tell us a bit about your working habits?

I agree...consistency sucks!

Let's face it, you always see things just a little different everytime you look at something...so why not translate that into real art....

why? cuz you're gunna mess with somebodies' mind who always sees things as black and white...

I'm goin' over here and tie a log around my neck and just shut up....
