get ready to barf

Read all the depressingly hip bios here:

And what's up with that new logo? The Bazooka gum logo is like the American flag! This is a terribly sad day for our country and for bubble gum comics and for decent graphics.

This is crazy...Bazooka Joe is a cartoon insitution, and should not be messed with in any way, shape or form. He needs no updates or modernization. It is the same as someone attempting to "modernize" the Yellow Kid. Boy, that would be a train wreck.

Am I the only one wondering "Just where the hell IS Bazooka Joe?"? I see that he has this new politically correct "gang" but I don't see Joe anywhere. Did he retire or something?

Gaah... this is like adding Poochie to Itchy & Scratchy.

Will they have the same gut-bustingly lame jokes, or will there now be culturally sensitive messages? "A Very Special Episode of Bazooka Joe"...

Just look at the characters and the "bios" (can you imagine, ficitonal characters with bios?).
I'm bettin' the comics will be be culturally sensitive, politically correct, socially-conscious, feel good type propaganda pieces.

I get my Bazooka gum at Saul's Deli in Berkeley, where they sell the Hebrew version. The horrible jokes are still horrible, but look cooler in the Hebrew alphabet.

I dunno, I kinda like the new gang. And the new logo makes me HOT.

well, almost as terrible as the day topps hired art spielgeman to do work for them.

That was a looooong time ago, Eeteed.

Anyone familiar with Bill Kelley & Rick Veitch's great Bazooka Joe & the gang meet Ed Gein comic, "Momma's Bwah"? That was the last hurrah for BJ...

eGad!
What Kind of marketing deal has Topp's signed with McDonald's now, i wonder?

Notice that the german rocker kid's favorite hangout is "McDonald's".

Why the specific reference, when the other kids are "hanging out" at more generic places like the local farmer's market, or the pizza joint?

And the German kid is... grey? When did 'grey' become an ethnicity?

Nice combat sneakers though, and his t-shirt proudly procalims him to be a lover of 'music'. Just like the black kid likes, I guess, 'atoms'.
