LCD / mobius comics

Kalling All Kompletists! Your Mark Martin kollection is woefully incomplete once again! The spanking new Best of LCD contains 2, possibly 3 great images that I created for WFMU in LCD's glory years.

The credits say I have artwork on page 73, 119, 128. Page 73 features a pen and ink portrait of Able and Baker, United States monkeynauts. Page 119 features a color cartoon of Dan Ashwander, uncelebrated Alabama cosmic mind. Page 128 features artwork by Jay Lynch and Gary Leib, so clearly somebody goofed. Is there actually a third example of my artwork for LCD in the book? I don't know, I just got it and have not looked at every page yet. But there's tons of rare stuff by other great cartoonists so buy a copy or ask Santa Claus to bring you one for Christmas.

I must set the record straight! I agree with everyone who says mobius strip comics is a brilliant idea whose time has come. How fortunate we are that Chris Duffy had that brilliant idea and recruited me, Sam Henderson, James Kochalka, and that guy with the Czechobodian name who draws Shark Hunters to each create a mobius strip comic for the upcoming Interactive Issue of Nick Mag! I can't wait to see what the other guys do!

Why is this a part of Tom Hart's site? Sam Henderson is one of the funniest men on earth. Yay.

thanks for the link to sam henderson’s site. he doesn’t seem to put as much effort into his as you put into yours. for example, you try to click on the NEWS link, but nothing is there. also, i think his last blog comment was back in june.

this brings up a question...do you get any DIRECT benefits from actively upkeeping and maintaining your blog?
obviously you get the indirect benefit of keeping in touch with your fans, and getting their praise and support. there is also the indirect benefit that it you’re “honing” your craft, and keeping up on modern technology.
but do you DIRECTLY benefit from all this work? does your sleek spiffy markmartin.net bring in gigs?
or is it just a labor of love? and if it is just a labor of love, why hasn’t the world’s greatest cook conked you on the head with her fry pan?
