Here's some Teeny Weeny you probably haven't seen if you don't buy Nick Mag. I just dragged it out to send to a local newspaper, to promote a local gallery exhibit of local cartoonists. Read all about it!

"Accounts of Events: Narrative Works by Connecticut Valley Artists"

The Connecticut Valley is home to a wide range of cartoonists; comic-book and comic-strip artists, writers, and publishers; and scholars commenting on cartoons and comics. This group exhibition shows the narrative art of cartoon and cartoon-related artists in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Western Massachusetts.

“Accounts of Events” aims to present a number of varied works which ask us to consider the ways in which we understand both narrative and reading. We are taught to associate words and pictures, but what happens when such things move out of the realm of how we're taught to consider comics and into a more explicit narrative structure? How does this act shift what we understand about 'reading' and about 'narrative'?

“Accounts of Events” is a group show, exhibiting at Greenfield Community College Downtown Center in April and May. Participants include Greenfield illustrator Sarah Adam, Recorder editorial cartoonist E. J. Barnes, humorous glass painter Helena Dooley, Looking for a Face Like Mine author Prof. William H. Foster III, '60s underground cartoonist Gary Hallgren, Dr. Birdley writer and artist Nevin Katz, Nickelodeon Magazine illustrator Mark Martin, Pop Culture's Kids creator Mark Stacy, Trees & Hills Comics Group co-founder Colin Tedford, and autobiographical comix artist Anne Thalheimer.

GCC Downtown Center is at 270 Main Street, Greenfield. The exhibit will run from 1 April through 29 May, with an artists' reception on Tuesday, 8 April, 6 p.m. -- 8 p.m. The Downtown Center is open to the public Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-- 9 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. -- 4 p.m.

[I'll post a link to the online article if it appears online and has more artists' work featured. - mm]

Good on you for promoting talented folk.

As for the comic--I don't know when I've seen more painful puns! Bravo!

Are all those toes related, or are they just random toes who happened to meet and graft themselves to a foot?

HOW DOES SHE DO IT? How does bonzogal always manage to ask the questions that I have no answer for?

My guess would be the obviously superior female mind, but please feel free to float your own theories ;-)

It's so British!

Why thank you Benny. Quite astute of you, though it was stolen, and corrupted by the Brits, from the Scots, of which I am neither. It means a commotion or disturbance. That I will own up to.
