DONE!

And speaking of Obama - OK, now you're starting to spook me, you commenters and fellow bloggers. The outpouring of love ... for a partisan politician big-money-beholden president? You're creeping me out, man! I'm looking forward to the next four years with the same hope for change that I always hope for with a new president, but that's it!

Attention pornographers! Cousin Eric is selling the bushflash domain name after Obama is nominated. I'm not editorializing about the content of the site - I'm just saying, think about it! A name like bushflash is tailor-made for the exciting New World where "bush" is no longer a bad thing and flashing bush is in the kindergarten lesson plan! JUST KIDDING! About the kindergarten part, but NOT about the money some smart pornographer can make with that name. Buy it now!

I'll buy it right after I finish negotiations on Y2K.com.

I'm all over the "bushflash" domain name! There just aren't enough sites devoted to exhibitionist shrubbery!

America is sexy again...

Indeed it is. Indeed it is.

As for the painting:

You mentioned that you were happier with this painting because it was less markery, and more painty, but I wouldn't knock your marker/acrylic approach. I think it really works for you.

Any chance of Biden/Palin/McCain follow-ups? I always the "series" entries of Everything

Thanks Bill. I'm actually at home today remembering Veterans and working on a new Goobpus & Galahad comic. So bad news, not working on more politicians. But good news, working on more G&H. Who knows, I may get inspired to draw Biden next time he does something stupid, but McC and Palin are old news, the election is over etc. Anyway, the Obama thing is not really about him but about the wave of Dear Leader love sweeping the country. So I guess a proper series would be other things that I don't get, like Football Fever and Las Vegas.

Yes! More Goodpus and Galahad!

Highlights still seems to proliferate at eye doctor's and dentist's offices everywhere and has changed little over the years, so take heart! The perennial Goobpus and Galahad will not be lost on the current generation. In neck and neck competition with game boys and ipods, The novelty of Highlights will always deceptively beckon to generation Z in the guise of kid friendly reading material. Little do they know.

Goobpus and Galahad is for the ages, I say!

Rereading some of my earlier comments, I sound pretty creamy, especially the part about not living in a totalitarian society etc. Still aglow from the whole Obama thing, for the first time I was basking in pride of country shmaltz. The Star Spangled Banner never gave me goosebumps, it was just that thing you had to listen to after the color bars on saturday morning before the cartoons came on. From an early age I was taught by my old man that Reagan was the devil, and thus my early impressions of America's leadership were formed.

What I'm trying to say, is that I and many others have lost our patriotic cherry in the most earnest of all possible ways. The scales of post modern cynicism have fallen from our eyes, Mark, and everything looks just that much shinier. The gee whiz will take some time to wear off, and in the meantime , whether you like it or not, you've much more of this sort of thing to look forward to.

Ahh Mark, come ova' here big fella! Group hug!
