Boy, they dropped the ball on Alabama! "Azaleas, cotton and corn" Not a single adjective to dress it up! Sorry, Mark -- I know there's more to the state than flowers, farm crops and toothless hicks.

Hey, you should do your own Alabama state promo piece!

You may have been asked this already- but are you doing all 1,000 photos? Or just the 50 states?

I didn't think so but I just wanted to be sure. You have done some crazy stuff in the past. Ha ha!

I never heard that John Lennon quote before. Good grief!

I'll never forget my first visit to Alabama--to visit my older brother who was then working for NASA in Huntsville. We were going through a small-ish town (I forget the name) and on the Welcome sign that has the names of all of the organizations that sponsor said sign was "KKK". Featured prominently.

Now, I was from Georgia, hardly a stranger to the KKK, but in all my travels all over my native state, end to end, side to side, I had never witnessed such a blatant example of the existence of that hate-mongering bunch of jerks.

One thing that I noticed then, and ever after on all of my visits, was the the streams and creeks and rivers in the northern part of the state were the clearest and cleanest I have ever seen.

"tuine" pronounced twine?

Hey, I see a few states over on Facebook that aren't here on the blog, but the blog images are larger, and therefore better for my downloading purposes. Will the blog catch up?

Yes, all will eventually be posted in both places... And I think this series will make a nice print-on-demand book one day!
