synchy!

Regular readers of this blog know there is an eerie amount of synchronicity that floats around in here. Yesterday I posted the Lost Treasure of 1978, and today I get this email from Eric Talbot:
Going through some folders and stumbled onto this.
Thought you might like a copy.
Did you do a fistacuffs 3 drawing???

No, I did not get my fighter done, and how in the heck did that old drawing end up in your folders? And what is it with 1978 this week?

Benny: Do you recognize this thing? I barely remember it. Was it for Southern Style?

Greg: If Spartacock made you think I was a child prodigy, this crappy gator gag should zap that notion right out of your head.

As long as we're in the wayback machine and as long as Benny got mentioned again, let's all slide into the rec room and listen to Benny belt out a classic from (somewhere around) 1978! eeTeed, you owe Benny a review - tell us what you think about this smooth crooning! And by the way, I accept your color-off challenge if Jed does.

AND FINALLY - Look what Wayno got off the google satellite thing. That's my house!

damn you, bissette

Last week Bissette was making a big freaking deal outa this Christian dating spam that popped up in his e-mail. I tried to calm him down about it, but you know how he is.

So anyway, over the weekend I made up this little faux spam, and registered a new email account for crossover.com to send it from, and I even put in the subject line "Mr. Bissette, your friend Phil Nutman wants you to have this!" You know, so he'd see Phil Nutman's name in there and think "hmmmm, maybe I oughta see what this is."

So I open up his blog Monday morning - NO CROSSOVER SPAM!

Tuesday morning - NO CROSSOVER SPAM!

Curses. Foiled again.

a post, a rant, etc

From Benny:

First off, I still can't get the VC here at DT.
(He still can't get stupid blogger to take his comments - ed.)

I haven't checked DD, but will.

Second, here's a lighter from Beaver Liquors in Beaver Creek, Colorado. When they first started, they were just "Beaver Liquors". Plain, classy, full of double entendre. THEN, either somebody bought the place and hired a hack ad agency or did their own work, and added "and Lips, Too" in horrible Brush Script, no kerning, no nothing. But WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
They have a whole line of stuff with THIS ON IT! And PEOPLE BUY IT!

Where's the "understatement"?

Me:

I too am filled with outrage and contempt. Benny is right. ALL CAPS RIGHT! Subtlety, style and a basic understanding of humor may be too much to expect from this company, but could they at least "focus group" the thing on a 12-year-old and see if it MAKES SENSE before they foist it on the public?

Foist: to pass off as genuine or worthy - Merriam-Webster

WHERE DID YOU GET THIS THING? THROW IT BACK!
